Da Nang: A late-night emergency meeting of regional trade ministers has resolved to try again to revive the Trans-Pacific Partnership, but any final deal is a long way off and, ultimately, may not involve Canada as well as the United States.

In a statement released Saturday, 11 Ministers, including Australia’s Steven Ciobo and Canada’s François-Philippe Champagne, recommitted to “core elements” of the TPP and to work though unresolved issues held by four nations, but gave no timeline as to when leaders would next gather to ink the deal.
