Mr Henrik Cederin, Sweden’s new ambassador to Australia Friday presented his credentials to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, David Hurley AC DSC in a special ceremony at Government House Canberra.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Henrik Grudemo, Minister Counsellor and Ms Ulrika Gustafsson, Second Secretary. The Governor-General and Mrs Hurley also received Mrs Alexandra Eva Elisabeth Cederin, said a statement by Governor General Office.
According to Embassy of Sweden, Ambassador Henrik Cederin will also be accredited to New Zealand, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Tonga.
Henrik Cederin started working on Utrikesd EPA rtementet in 1991 and has served at Sweden’s embassies in Seoul, Tel Aviv and Tokyo, and the Swedish EU representation in Brussels. Prior to joining Sweden as ambassador to Australia in 2019, Henrik served four years as Sweden’s ambassador to Zambia.
In 2010-2015, Mr Henrik served at the Unit for Asia and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Stockholm, as a ministry council and deputy head of unit.
Mr Henrik also has a background in management consulting and strategic business communication after working for two leading Swedish consulting companies.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stockholm School of Economics (1988), has completed the UN Disarmament Scholarship Program (1992) and has been a member of the Board of the European Institute of Japanese Studies at the Stockholm School of Economics (2011-2015).
