Philippine Embassy Launches “Philippines-Australia Friendship Day” Campaign

The Philippine Embassy in Australia Wednesday launched a social media campaign ‘Philippines-Australia Friendship Day’ to celebrate Philippines youth who nurture the friendship between Filipinos and Australians.

The campaign will run from 22 to 31 May 2019. Embassy has advised the youth to use the hashtag #FilAussieDay to share their own way of celebrating the friendship between the Philippines and Australia, said a statement from embassy of Philippine.

In celebration of Philippines-Australia Friendship Day, the Philippine Embassy in Canberra highlights the importance of today’s youth in building and strengthening bridges between the Philippines and Australia.

On this occasion, Ambassador De La Vega recalled her engagement with young delegates of the Australia-ASEAN Youth Forum in Adelaide, South Australia, who were keen to have a deeper appreciation of Australia’s relations with the Philippines.

“My exchanges with them affirmed my belief that the youth play an important role in nurturing the friendship between the Philippines and Australia.”

As part of this celebration, the Philippine Embassy will also shine the light on Filipino Student Organizations all over Australia who promote Filipino culture and heritage as the Philippines’ youth ambassadors. The campaign will be launched in the official website of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra (@PHinAustralia).
