Pakistan and Fiji agreed to execute Development Cooperation Agreement

Pakistan and Fiji have agreed in principle to execute Development Cooperation Agreement between two nations to further strengthen friendly ties.

The matter was discussed in detail in a meeting between Pakistan’s non-resident High Commissioner to Fiji Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary and Acting Prime Minister of Fiji Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum in Suva on Feb 17.

Both sides held wide ranging discussions on all areas of cooperation.

Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary also held a very productive meeting with Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation of the Republic of Fiji, Rosy Akbar where they agreed to enhance bilateral coop including through a Framework of Cooperation for Social Sector Development

Pakistani diplomat spent a bust day in Suva and met with Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Fiji, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya.

They discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation including through establishment of Pakistan Fiji Business Council.

Earlier on February 16, the High Commissioner of The Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri presented his credentials to the Fijian President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere as Non-Resident High Commissioner for Pakistan to Fiji, at The State House, Suva.

At the special ceremony, Pakistan’s flag was hoisted and National anthem was played. Pakistani diplomat was presented a guard of honour as well.
