Kenya on Wednesday strongly condemned the terror attack on an upscale hotel complex in capital Nairobi which left several innocent people dead and reiterated that terrorism will never defeat us.
Interior Minister of Kenya Fred Matiang’i in a statement issued by the High Commission of Kenya in Canberra said that country is now secure that the nation remains calm and that Kenyans and all our visitors are safe and should feel free to continue going about their normal business.
Gunmen on Tuesday afternoon stormed an upscale hotel and office complex in Nairobi, setting off loud blasts and sending people fleeing for their lives following a coordinated assault claimed by the Somalia-based al-Shabab armed group, Aljazeera reported.
Matiang’i also recognised the critical support from international community in testing time.
“We recognise the support and collaboration we have received from our friends in the international community here in Kenya who have stood with us during this difficult time where we have been tested and found not wanting”, he said.
He reiterated that terrorism will never defeat us and we remain an integral part of the international community that stands up to terror in all its guises.
