Ambassador of Japan Takahashi this week paid a courtesy call on Andrew Barr MLA, Chief Minister of the ACT, and discussed the relationship between Japan and Canberra.
Japanese city Nara and Canberra are the sister cities and in October 2018 both cities celebrated the silver jubilee of their sister city ties. The sister city agreement was signed on Oct. 27, 1993, under which the two cities have since been promoting educational, sports and cultural exchanges.
During the meeting both sides agreed to build on already close relations in various sectors.
