Ethiopian Ambassador to Australia Dr. Muktar Kedir, Tuesday called on Jeong –Sik Kang, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Australia in his office.
During the Meeting, both Ambassadors extolled the special relations the two countries enjoyed since the 1950’s and further exchanged views on ways of expanding the bilateral relations. said a statement issued by the Embassy of Ethiopia.
Ambassador Muktar took the opportunity to brief Ambassador Jeong –Sik Kang on major national issues including latest developments regarding GERD and the rationale behind the Declaration of the Unilateral Humanitarian Ceasefire by the Federal Government in Tigray region.
Ethiopian Ambassador further informed Ambassador Jeong–Sik Kang that Ethiopia concluded its 6th National election in a peaceful and credible manner with an extraordinary voter turnout.
Warmly welcoming Ambassador Muktar, Ambassador Jeong –Sik Kang, on his part, spoke highly of Ethiopia’s contribution during the Korean War and underscored the need to strengthen the historical relationship across multiple sectors.
In the end, the two sides agreed to to work closely on issues of common interest and promote bilateral ties between the two countries.
