Australia has reaffirmed its strong support for an intra-Afghan peace process and possible cease fire in the country.
Australian support was reiterated by an Australian delegation led by Dr. Lachlan Strahan, the Assist. Secretary S/W Asia at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in a meeting with Afghan National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib in Kabul on Tuesday.
“Afghan NSA Dr. Hamdullah Mohib met with Australian delegation led by Dr. Lachlan Strahan, the Assist. Secretary S/W Asia DFAT in Kabul. Both sides discussed the Afghan peace process, possible cease fire, upcoming election and regional cooperation”, said a statement issued from the office of National Security Advisor.

Australian delegation also reaffirmed Australia’s support for an intra-Afghan peace process, elections, possible cease fire and assisting ANDSF, as they called them “heroic”.
National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib thanked the delegation for Australia’s assistance and recognized their sacrifices in Afghanistan
