Australia and Republic of Korea has reaffirmed their resolve to promote regional peace and security.
The commitment was reiterated during a meeting between the Ambassador of Republic of Korea Beak-Soon Lee and Christopher Pyne MP, Minister for Defence for the 45th Parliament of Australia in Canberra.
“Ambassador Lee had a meeting with the Christopher Pyne, Minister for Defence for the 45th Parliament of Australia last week and discussed current situations of Korea and Australia including the bilateral defence cooperation”, said a statement from embassy of republic of korea.
Korean Ambassador informed the Christopher Pyne the latest situation in Korean Peninsula. Both sides agreed to stay engaged for regional stability.
Australia and Republic of korea has close political, economic and defence relations and hold biennial Foreign and Defence Ministers’ 2+2 meetings.
Both sides hold Foreign Ministers’ meetings and Defence Ministers’ dialogues in either country or in the margins of plurilateral events at least annually.
