The Ambassador designate of the State of Kuwait to Australia, Bassam Al-Qabandi, Thursday met with the Director of the Middle East Department at the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mrs. Gemma Huggins.
Director DFAT warmly welcome the new Ambassador of Kuwait and assured her full support to enhance bilateral ties.
Both sides discussed the current state of Australia-Kuwait relations and agreed to further strengthen them in various domains.
Ambassador designate Bassam Mohammed Al-Qabandi has already presented his credentials as ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ian McConville, Director of the Protocol Department at Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Mr Bassam also visited Jordanian Embassy on Thursday and met with Ambassador Ali Kraishan, Ambassador Jordan and Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Canberra and discussed issues of mutual interest.
