Indonesian Ambassador expressed satisfaction on close cooperation for borders protection

Indonesian Ambassador in Australia Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo Thursday expressed his satisfaction on close cooperation between Indonesian Maritime Security Agency and Australian border force to protect the borders of both neighboring states.

He was talking to visiting head of Bakamla (Indonesian Maritime Security Agency) Achmad Taufiqoerrochman and his delegation at Indonesian Embassy in Canberra.

Ambassador Legowo deputy head of mission Mohammad Iskandarsyah Derry welcomed the Indonesian delegation visiting Australia to attend The 3rd Senior Official Meeting between Bakamla with the Commissioner of the Australian Border Force (ABF), said a statement issued by the Embassy of Indonesia.

The head of the Bakamla during his stay would also meet the Commander of the Australian Maritime Border Command in order to strengthen maritime security cooperation between Indonesia and Australia.

Earlier on Wednesday the delegation of Bakamla visited ABF College Maritime Campus Sydney.

The delegation was welcomed by ABF Superintendent Benjamin Honey, Superintendent Andrew Balley, and Superintendent Pam Radin, and briefed the visitors about the training programs and facilities at ABF College, Jurnalhitz.com reported.

Delegates also had the opportunity to visit facilities such as the Inspection simulation room on the aircraft, the simulation room for rescue of crew that fell from the ship, and simulation rooms for container inspection and ships related to illegal drug smuggling.

The visit which was part of the exchange visit between Bakamla and Australian Border Force on the first day was closed with onboard activities on the ABF patrol boat in the waters around Sydney Harbor.
