Russia greets Fiji on diplomatic relations anniversary

Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on Thursday greeted the Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji Voreqe Bainimarama on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Fiji.

Sergey Lavrov in his felicitated message noted in particular that for the last decades a solid groundwork for ongoing development of the whole range of Russian-Fijian ties has been laid through joint efforts, said a statement issued by the Embassy of Russian federation in Canberra.

He expressed confidence that the accumulated experience will contribute to further development of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of people of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Fiji in the interest of strengthening security in the Asia-Pacific region.

Sergey Lavrov wished Prime Minister Bainimarama good health and further success as well happiness and well-being – to the people of the Republic of Fiji.
